Yes! BIGGAME, following bigwords. A series of words were given. All of 'em then connected to one bigword. So where does the fun lie?! Read.
Ten levels were given, with 10 words. I just defined the words and ofcourse the number of letters were given. People started going for wacky guesses to get past through each level and find all ten.
LEVEL #1: " _ _ _ _ "
You tend to do it, to make things look better about you. Works sometime. But not always.
Awesome guesses by people. Like face... and hey "BATH" was the best guess!! :p my friends' can think wild! seriously!.. the answer was "FATE". One more remarkable thing about this level was... the girl who astonished me. A fellow classmate. She is from tamil medium thou'. Got it right in the very first guess. :O How?! she says... she once overheard an argument between me and my friend... came across this word... referred the dictionary... and knew the meaning. She immediately moved on to level #2( She stopped here, but her eagerness to learn needs appreciation).
LEVEL #2: " _ _ _ _ _ _ " take this tagline "everything you see is not what it seems to be"
This was an easy one. Almost everyone got it in the very first guess. can you?! yes, MIRAGE!!
LEVEL #3: " _ _ _ _ _ " Everyone wants to have ett! people having it don't use it well!!
Obvious guess! Everyone ( with no exception) said BRAIN :p and ofcourse MONEY too. I know both fit well. But the expected word was " POWER ". People guessed that eventually.
LEVEL #4: " _ _ _ _ " Great enthusiasm towards the work you do. Sometimes leading you to get it done, ANYWAY!!!
A words which is not very often used by us fits in here. But Sree gets it in the very first guess. Gautham gave in many guesses, so did nivi and Sri . But in the end they hit the world... ZEAL!!!!!!
LEVEL #5: " _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _" "I disagree for the only reason you agreed" :p Amateur behaviour!!
Well, there were different controversies and realisations in this level. Nive, well, thought that the clue wasn't apt... Well, my justification was.. you read my clue... arrive at the word "fight" and in better english, "LOGGERHEADS". Collins' taught me that this was a single-word PHRASE... so did sri! This was one of the level where many used the lifelines( almost 3 blanks were filled, giving a clue ).
LEVEL #6: " _ _ _ _ " The only thing that doesn't change is "change" and the above word!!!
First guess. Name!! :O :O that was actually a good one and true too :p and ofcourse when that was a NO from my side... people landed up in FATE!! sree's answer.. "EXAM" needs a special mention. And gautham's n number of guesses too...
LEVEL #7: " _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ " People need to master this skill of speaking to avoid trouble. The other meaning is a clue for the final word. ;p
Well, being diplomatic helps. and everyone follows it. so ! duh! DIPLOMACY!!!
LEVEL #8: " _ _ _ _ _ _ _ " A leaders' quality.
That was all what I gave. I knoe the clue was really vague. But c'mon we are in level #8. Courage, honesty and all the abstract words fell. Worst part, almost all words fitted the blanks. That must have been a disappointment. Again... people needed clues. And I told 'em, word with 3 Es. And everyone landed in EXECUTE!!! But wait, sree needs special mention here, "extreme, forsee, believe, hearing, honesty and so on..." were his guesses... HE made sure a 100 times whether my clue was right :P(trust sree :p :p)
From the next level, key clues for the final words sets in!!
LEVEL #9: " _ _ _ _ _ _ _ " Beautiful to watch :) :) Simple as that !!
A scenery was too obvious. Next came SUNRISE which was correct.
Max. no of guesses in this level, with a final correct answer was sri! nivi banged it right!!!
LEVEL #!10: " _ _ _ _ _ _ " Beautiful time of the year.
AUTUMN!. Take the answer. Before I discuss. "VOTING" was the best answer. (credits: sree! again) he gives additional information stating that, it is the time when the parliament convene. :)
So there is all the ten words on the table. Waiting to be re-arranged into a single 8 letter word... "POLITICS/ELECTION" was the answer. I set politics as the answer in the beginning... but later felt election was more apt too... The sunrise and autumn should have said it all :) :) Two days of immense texting I had. Everyone answered the final word. Two seniors banged it right after the 10 words were given... short cut (they are offcial B.E wacksters done wid coll :p). Special mention, with great enthusiasm and the first to finish the hunt was Niveda (the gal named single ;) in the link ). She called me up in between to know whether her guesses were right when I gave a late reply!!. Her mom was into playing too... Gautham lost hope, regained it and answered. And sree comes with the answer exactly at 12.00am :) :) Sri played all along even though her had exams!!. And "I", wow!, knew a 100 new words after all their guess....I loved this different venture.... waiting for BIGGAME #2(hopefully i change my networkk within that).
