We have reached
that time of the year when nostalgia fills our inner feelings which is then overcome
by realisations of what should've been done, could've been done or instead, what
we just did. I couldn’t justify a year being good or bad based on recent events.
Unfortunately that's what we've been doing before every new years' eve and then
swamping these feelings by resolutions for the next year. But at the end of the
day we all miss the year that passes by, which gave us moments of laughter, tears,
accomplishment, anxiety, selfishness, excitement and not to forget, love.
10. Even
harsh summer mornings doesn’t stop us from taking a time off to go on trips with
family or friends. An excuse to be away from the busy world. Have you forgotten
those silly moments on camera? Take a look at the happy you right there.
9. Academics
at college or even job at a workplace must've had its ups and downs. But it has
kept you busy for the year. Gave you a sense of satisfaction at the end of the day.
Sit back on your chair and think about the difference you made there. Feel proud.
8. A place to
call home and people to be with always. Family. How can we forget a birthday surprise
by appa and a special dish made by amma? They were by your side when you considered
your problems not understandable by any. And to them you never had to say I love
you. They loved you anyway.
7. A high soaring
success may not be scheduled for this year. But think about the one thing that you've
always wanted and that one thing that you actually managed to make it yours. You've
seen success in this year. The year gave you that. Boast about it.
6. A childhood
friend you happened to get in touch with. The old stories you both loved talking
about. The amateur acts that made you laugh. Must've made your day. It reminds you
about who you were and those unforgettable moments that you crave to get back.
5. The year has
been warm on so many. They've found love. A few have married to begin a new life
with their soul mates. Others are in love. Be grateful to feel loved. Give others
more of it. I've been told it feels good. Doesn't it?
4. So let's just
leave those loved ones alone. For the others, a chicken pepperoni cheese burst pizza
while watching a TV show is bliss. The crowd that spends time on a social networking
site, looks up on the latest update on apps, new movie releases for the week, a
football match to follow or a test series to comment on. Recall those 'I so can't
wait' moments the year gave you.
3. Bet you must've
got your own story for each of these bearings. A few could’ve missed a big opportunity
this year, spent time working hard yet waiting for a breakthrough or been in
solitude after letting go of your loved ones. If it was the year to be blamed what
about the tine that healed the scars? It's not a bad year afterall. It’s just the
year that came by to make you strong.
2. Think about
far away strangers, near acquaintances. Doesn’t it make you excited to know how
your relationship with them would be in the future? They may do the exact same thing
what people this year did to you. But there's a chance for you to make it different.
Act on what you've been through and feel good about being a part of this year. Miss
it when it goes by. It's not going to come back and haunt you. And also, wait eagerly
for the year that is waiting to give you a chance to do your life all over again.
What you'll be listing next year will almost be the same as this year, but to what
extent is what that will make all the difference. Step out, Have fun.
1. Happy New
Year.
